Look Closely, Your View May Change...

Today’s blog entry revolves around my urban exploration trip on Sunday, May 20th.  The purpose of the trip is to travel to an abandoned building in Detroit and shoot images within the building or from the roof.  I traveled with a group of photographers from the Motor City Photography Workshop.  There were 10 of us, our 3 hosts, Alanna, Eric and Jesse, as well as 6 other photographers.  A few of the photographers have been shooting images through urban exploration many times over and some of us, like me, were on our first time.  The outing did not disappoint.  We traveled to Fisher Body 21 which has been abandoned since the early 90s.  We shot for almost three hours and I was able to get some amazing photos of the Detroit skyline as well as the inside of the abandoned plant.  The morning was bright and full of sun so that helped to take advantage of the indirect light coming through the building.  You can click here to go directly to my gallery or look over a few of the more interesting images from the day.

This first shot summarizes the day.  Look closely, your view may change…
